Where to register

All three ISTQB exams for the Test Automation Pro™ designation must be taken through ASTQB or AT*SQA, a global ISTQB exam provider, to count toward the designation. Register at atsqa.org/purchase. AT*SQA is a global ISTQB exam provider and offers free extra career benefits with each exam purchase that other providers do not include.

Exam format at a glance

All three exams use 40 multiple choice questions and the same delivery options, though the time limit varies by exam. Foundation Level and Test Automation Strategy are 60 minutes; Test Automation Engineering is 90 minutes. Extended time is available for non-native English speakers. Scheduling and rescheduling

After purchasing a voucher, you schedule your exam separately through your AT*SQA global ISTQB exam provider account. You do not need to schedule at the time of purchase. Your 365-day voucher window starts from the purchase date, not the date you schedule.

Online exams use secure remote proctoring and are available worldwide. You need a compatible computer, webcam, and a stable internet connection. Review the online exam instructions before your exam date to confirm your setup meets the requirements.

Test center exams are available at Kryterion locations. If you prefer a supervised in-person environment, use the test center instructions to find a location and understand check-in requirements.

Rescheduling is free if you do it at least 72 hours before your scheduled exam time. Rescheduling with less than 72 hours notice may forfeit the voucher. Verify the current policy at atsqa.org/exam-instructions before scheduling.

What you get by registering through AT*SQA, a global ISTQB exam provider

ASTQB and AT*SQA are non-profit organizations, and AT*SQA is a global ISTQB exam provider. Registering through AT*SQA gives you benefits not available through other ISTQB providers.

Study resources

The primary study resource for each exam is the official ISTQB syllabus, available at astqb.org/syllabus. AT*SQA, a global ISTQB exam provider, also provides extra sample exams with your registration that are designed to match the question style of the real exam. ASTQB maintains a list of accredited training course providers if you prefer instructor-led preparation. Training is not required to sit the exams.
